So... I decided to write a blog so that anyone who cares can keep up with what I get up to on my year abroad. I am going to be spending my year abroad working for the British Council as an English Language Assistant in the A.Diesterweg Gymnasium in Plauen, Sachsen.

After a long search, I have finally found somewhere to live and booked my one way ticket! I'm going to be living in a WG with a German girl called Stefanie who seems really nice :) The flat looks lovely and it's really close to the school which is a huge bonus! I am really relieved that I've managed to find somewhere to live before going to Germany- it's definitely a huge weight off my shoulders! I'm looking forward to moving in and meeting my future housemate :)

I'm going to be flying to Berlin on the 16th of September, a week before I need to be in Cologne for my training course. I decided to give myself a week to get to know the area and sort out important things like registering and setting up my bank account etc.
I am starting to really look forward to my year abroad, but I am still REALLY nervous, especially about teaching English! However, I'm really excited about living in and travelling around Germany, and meeting lots of new people! :)
So, I think that's all I have to say for now! I will try and keep you all updated :)
